Real English? Creating Authenticity in the English Classroom.

A continuum of classroom tasks, materials and situations stretch from the inauthentic through the constructed to the authentic. In addition, teachers and materials developers shape classroom tasks and materials simply by making choices about what to include and what to exclude. In this presentation, Ken Beatty explores the use of authenticity in language classrooms in terms of language, task, and situation. Practical applications to the curriculum development and methodology are discussed.
