Thinking is one of the most powerful forces for learning, growing and igniting change. Nowadays, in a time of exponential change, thinking seems to be ‘a survival skill’ more than ever.
In this session I will discuss Visible Thinking - a flexible and systematic research-based conceptual framework, which enriches classroom learning in the content areas and fosters students’ intellectual development.
I will share some insights, practical applications of thinking routines in teaching, and tried-and-tested ways to make learning unfold while your students become more thoughtful, inquisitive and confident.
As teens teachers, we are always striving to find teaching methods that fully engage our students and that are fun and memorable. One of the techniques we can use in class is employing ‘visible thinking’ activities.
This involves using certain strategies which deepen content learning and develop students' thinking skills by describing, analysing and wondering. All these skills are needed in our students’ future lives to make them feel confident. Please join this session to find out more about visible thinking and how we can use it in class.
