Pearson Educational Forum 2023. Day 1 - A Confident Young Learner
The Pearson Connected English Learning Program has been expertly designed over 25 years to build your English learners’ confidence and fast-track their progress. Powered by the Global Scale of English, Pearson’s connected suite of courses, assessments and certifications boosts English learners’ enjoyment and motivation to learn English so they can experience and demonstrate success.
Generation Alpha are children born from the year 2010 on. By the end of the 2020s the oldest children from this generation will be growing into adulthood. As teachers, it’s important to understand the characteristics of these modern young learners in order to help guide them on their learning journey. In this session we will look at how Alpha kids compare to other generations, and we will discuss competencies and skills that can be worked on to encourage motivation and engagement in class while simultaneously preparing our learners for the future.
As teachers, it’s important to take the time to understand what makes Alpha kids tick to engage and motivate them as much as possible in their learning process. In this session we will look at practical ideas which can help meet the needs of this generation and we will discuss how to develop social skills and collaborative learning in class. We will also investigate how we can develop skills in our ELT lessons to prepare our learners for the upcoming challenges they may face in the future. The better we understand Generation Alpha, the easier it will be to help them rise and shine in their lives.
